Starting your triathlon with confidence is key, and our Training Days aim to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this.

RG:active have been operating for over twelve years and has become one of the UK’s leading mass participation providers of specialist sports coaching and training.

We specialize in the disciplines of swimming, cycling and running, which come under the umbrella of triathlon, duathlon and multisport. We have a team of extremely qualified coaches and assist thousands of people every year achieve their chosen sporting endeavours be it a first ever 5km run, learning to ride a bike, open water swimming or the chance to represent their country in triathlon at the highest level.

Open Water Swim Seminar

Where: Dorney Lake, Windsor

Starting an open water swim or triathlon with confidence is key for every competitor and our aim is to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this. The training will be aimed at both complete novices doing their first open water swim as well as those who have completed 1-2 open water swims but still feel like they need help on improving their open water swimming technique early in the season. We will split you into groups according to your ability and the session will provide you with practical and theoretical advice by several triathlon experts, lead by the experienced swim coaches at RG Active.

Experts will provide you with advice on all aspects of the swim section including:

  • Goggles – correct fitting and top tips whilst racing
  • Wetsuit – correct fitting and how to get it on and off quickly
  • Open water swimming techniques
  • Race top tips for group starts, course sighting etc.

Triathlon Training Day

Where: Dorney Lake, Windsor

Whether you are preparing for your first triathlon, or are wanting to improve your times this season, the coaches of RG:Active will be on hand to present sessions focusing on all three disciplines of the triathlon and give you a chance to practice your transitions.

Starting an open water triathlon with confidence is key for every competitor, and our aim is to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this. The training will be aimed at both complete novices doing their first triathlon as well as those who have completed 1-2 triathlons but still feel like they need help on improving their triathlon technique early in the season. The sessions will provide you with both practical and theoretical advice.

These are just some of the things you will cover:

SWIM:

Open water swimming techniques including mass/group starts, course sighting, swimming toys and equipment, turning, fitting and removing wetsuit etc. There will be special provision for nervous and first-time open-water swimmers.

BIKE:

Knowing and preparing your bike, bike rules and regs, bike position, bike equipment and nutrition and hydration on the bike leg.

RUN:

Efficient run technique, good warm up and post exercise stretching, pace judgement, running drills.

TRANSITION:

Kit layout, transition set-up, options to save time, applicable rules.

Numbers will be limited so early application is required.

Getting there

Eton College Rowing Centre, Dorney Lake, Windsor, SL4 6QP

The event will be held at the Olympic rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering in the Boathouse.
